I really like the miniature Mr. Goodbars and I really don't like normal size bars. Why is it that Mr. Goodbars don't scale well?

Overheard in a bookstore:

Guy 1: Have you read Catcher in the Rye?
Guy 2: (pause) Yeah.
Guy 1: Did you like it?
Guy 2: It was OK. The best part about it was that it was short.
Guy 1: The only part I can remember is when he hires that prostitute.

Ways in which I am flawed, part 4 in a large, possibly finite series:

I have taken to eating donuts that I don't like. I really like the plain bread donuts (Dunkin' Donuts calls them "Old Fashioned"), so every day when I stop at Dunkin' Donuts, I get two of them and a medium coffee. There's a deal so that if you get two donuts and a coffee, it costs almost the same as one donut and coffee. I don't really want the second donut usually, I just get it because it's a good deal and what the hell?

Recently, I seem to be getting the same counter person when I stop there. He recognizes me and gets me my donuts and coffee without waiting for me to say what I want. I like this. The problem is that he thinks I like French Crullers. I don't like French Crullers much at all.

Yet, I will eat the French Crullers and keep the Cheers feeling rather than get what I really want.

And you can see me doing my best hayseed impression here.

Every time I see a "United We Stand" bumper sticker, I change it in my head to "Strength through Unanimity of Opinion". Then I think, "Who wants that?"

The lending library has moved to booklend.net. And it even garnered a little mention in the New York Times, which is pretty exciting.
